"You can hear the mournful Southwestern winds blow all through Acres of Diamonds, Anthony Garcia’s genre-blending new album."

Haunted Hotels combines folk guitar, electro beats, neo-classical violin and piano, and even a touch of classic rock (those vocal melodies!) for a truly unique experience. Lots of genre mash-ups can come off as trite or unfinished, but Garcia’s fusion of styles is immaculate. The delicate acoustic guitar work, mysterious harp, solid beats, ’80s keys, and desert-rock guitar solo all fit together like a beautifully composed photograph. Garcia’s arrangement and composition shine throughout, as this five-minute track does not feel nearly that long–it floats by effortlessly, which is no easy feat for a song this complex. It’s a brilliant, evocative piece of work that shows off an impressive skillset.”

“Anthony Garcia meets at the crossroads of Hayes Carll and George Winston. The Texas artist strikes gold as a purveyor of "cinematic Americana", a bend on the roots genre that often delves into pseudo-orchestral breaks. An appreciator of classical string and piano music, Garcia bears influence from Bach as much as Townes Van Zandt. Lyrical and informed, his music strikes a captivating balance between folk-rock and classical persuasions that makes for something truly idiosyncratic… magical.”

“Epic, shredding guitar solos that veer into blues and even heavy metal territory come together with potent lyrics on Anthony Garcia's cinematic Americana tune "Apparitions". LISTEN

“Firing off with a gritty guitar riff and strings that feels like a classically-influenced composition, the music sounds like it could be the soundtrack of a rough and tumble action film. Garcia’s lyrics and vocals – straddling the line between outlaw country and Americana rock anthem – are intensely visual in a cinematic sense. What makes this song so special is that it isn’t just a quick shot to the vein as one might think from the first couple of minutes. Garcia stretches out, layering in epic, shredding guitar solos that veer into blues and even heavy metal territory. While the lyrics are potent, it’s the guitar work that makes this tune soar and also gets the listener excited to see what Garcia is capable of in the live setting. Just wait for the song’s finale to experience this feeling.” - Glide Magazine

Singer, songwriter, guitarist, and classically trained pianist Anthony Garcia cites an eclectic combination of influences that range from Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix to Leonard Cohen, Townes Van Zandt, and Johann Sebastian Bach.

The Austin, Texas–based artist melds these inspirations imaginatively on the story songs that dominate the powerfully sung Acres of Diamonds. Fasten your seat belt for a consistently satisfying ride that incorporates lots of stylistic twists and turns and features violin, viola, and cello player Megan Berson, whose moody strings recall Scarlett Rivera’s embellishments on Bob Dylan’s Desire.”
